Getting to "El Capricho" is not so easy. I had to take metro, and then walk for like 10 minutes to the main entrance. But is a beautiful way to spend a nice day, with out the crowds usually in other parks in Madrid.

It's park...well, you can't enter in any of the buildings, it's actually quite small, with few things that are really worth the right from the city center...it used to be more interesting when the capricious lady was still alive and had all the place filled with what she wanted, now it's just deserted and boring.

This park is a 45 minute metro riude outside the centre of Madrid but is well worth it. It only opens on Saturday and Sundays and has a maximum limit of 1000 people at any one time. This means that it is a truly untouched, immaculate park with plenty of wildlife including some very bold red squirrels!

When I think of Parque El Capricho or The Park of Whims, I firstly have to overcome my feelings of laziness about actually getting to it. It is a on Metro Line 5 (Metro stop: El Capricho) and is a little bit out of the way.
