Known as La Seu, Barcelona's grand cathedral dates back to the 13th century & is well worth a visit just to see the geese among the palms & magnolias in the cloisters. The surrounding medieval buildings are of real beauty. In Placa Nova, by the cathedral, "buskers" seems the wrong word to describe the talented classical guitarists whose strains will... More

This gothic cathedral is amazing. Not far from the noise and bustle of La Rambla but once you enter the quiet and tranquility hits you. Although the roof terrace is under construction well worth visit for the view. Although the Sagrada Familia is a must see for the unusual architecture the queues stopped us from going inside. Cathedral Saint Eulalia... More

Barcelona Cathedral (Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia) is at the Plaça de la Seu, in the Barri Gòtic district, not far from La Rambla. You can take the metro either yellow line L4 to Jaume I station or green line L3 to Liceu station and walk from there. Barcelona Cathedral is a Catalan Gothic architecture. The church... More

Very nice architecture, very good preserved interior. It was the only church were I saw electric candles that were turning off by inserting coins (the number of candles that were turning on were depending on the money inserted- more money= more candles). We only got to see the interior of the church. More

We love the Bari Gothic district of Barcelona. The cathedral is right at the heart of it. Cathedral is quite plain but imposing from the outside. Inside it is dark with some beautiful windows and carvings Two things - was full of school kids, who made a racket and showed no respect for where they were. I'm not religious whatsoever,... More

This is the most interesting thing we did in five days of wandering around Barcelona...a beautiful building loaded with art and sculpture of the period. More

I think this cathedral is often confused with Santa Maria del Mar as there are some pictures of Santa Eulalia posted under Santa Maria del Mar postings. It was worth 6 euros entrance fee. Do not miss the courtyard and the fabulous views from the roof terrace (which is unfortunately under construction right now therefore the access is limited but... More
