old fashioned train trip with lovely views and a stop off to take photos, Soller is a lovely town, then a tram ride to the port where we had a lovely lunch and some sunbathing, 28 euros pp for train and tram return ride, well worth it,

Pretty scenery. It was special for me since it was my maternal grandfather's birthplace. The museums at the station were an unexpected treat. One had Picasso ceramics and the other was of works of Joan Miró.

We decided to take the train without a guided tour. We left our ship at the port, took local bus number one right to the train station. It is a little difficult to find but is in Plaza de Espana stop on the corner of Eusebbio Estada Streat and Avenidas and one block from the central bus station. The train... More

But it looks nice, wooden and quaint, and if you enjoy that sort of thing, we should have visited Soller Town , seaside was ordinary

Having previously visited Soller by car from Cala Bona enjoying stunning scenery in the dramatic mountain roads, I was very keen to do this journey with the added experience of the historic train. However, sadly, it did not come up to scratch. The views were not as spectacular as those from the road which is higher up the mountain, nor... More

Not cheap but worth it if a lovely sunny day. If travelling from Palma to Soller on this very old scenic route then be prepared to pay 19.50 euros return per adult. You will travel past lemon and orange trees with magnificent views but you will also travel through a few tunnels too! Try to time your journey so that... More

The good: The clickety click of the rails;the charm of travelling at the pace of trains from 1912; the mountain scenery; the scent of flowers on the air; the station cafe in Soller, with its delicious orange juice, (and it's cheaper than in the main square). The bad: it's busy... The ugly: there could be a scramble for places. It... More

The train is on of the Old San Francisco Trams. It is a lovely journey up through the mountains. You see Olive and Orange trees and their is some nice views. The town of Soller is beautiful.

The train and tram cost 28 euros per person return. I think the walk from Soller to Port Soller would be quite a trek in the heat on the uphill return so worth the extra fare. All the carriages are beautifully maintained and its great to see that the excursion is so popular. However, as seg1962 says, the return journeys... More

The rustic electic railway into the mountains and down to the town of Sóller really is a must-see. Not cheap, but the scenery is stunning, and the destination is lovely. Make sure you buy the train+tram ticket, since you'll almost certainly want to catch the tram down to the port.
