We visited as part of Dresden wall and our guide was able to explain fully what was going on here Worth a stroll to see
Dresden was bombed to bits, killing many innocent people and destroying beautiful buildings at the end of World War II. Hopefully it will act as a reminder of how brutal war is. It's amazing how the museum was rebuilt so beautifully.
we visited there with a day trip group from berlin and we didn't got a lot of time to wander around there more. it has a beautiful architecture and fine gardens, to my opinion it is the best attraction in the city of dresden.
It's one of the top attractions in Dresden so you definitely have to go there. But make sure that you don't go with a tour guide. Or go with a tour guide in the morning and then after your tour ends, go to Zwinger again. It has 3 galleries and the Old Master's art gallery is specially nice. Looks lovely... More
Modeled after Versaille was built by August the Strong. The beautiful buildings, gardens and fountains also has a outstanding museum housing the Old Masters Picture Gallery well worth visiting also. I can highly recommend this site to you to visit.
unfortunatly, being with a tour operator,we could not enough time to visit slowly all but,at least we got the taste of it and we will back another time....Dresden deserve a bit more than just one day.
It is hard to imagine this place and whole Dresden was so badly damaged during WW2.Zwinger is an amazing baroque masterpice constructed by one of the Saxon noble man.You have to pay to visit the museums,we visited them all and particularly liked the porcelain section.
I got there after misleading information of Dresden info center at 4 p.m. as they told me they are open till 8 p.m. I found out they are open just till 6 p.m. But why not to be open longer. It is a huge exhibition ground with lots of world masterpieces of paintings and chine. The architecture is nice, the... More
We chose mainly to hike around the palace outside as it was a great day. Beautiful architecture and very interesting. Its a short visit unless you combine with museum
Honestly, there's no so many tourist places in Dresden. In fact, they are only few. What's more I find Dresden is not a tourist city at all. But if you go there you must see Zwinger. Actually it's good enough if you only walk and stroll on all of its staircases for free. Otherwise you have to pay for three... More
