Have toured this place twice now, first time with an English speaking tour guide... Worth a visit, lots of information and history to explore..

Located on Friedrichstrasse, the building served as border crossing between the east and west Berlin. Interesting info about construction of the border, crossing and finaly tearing it down. The admission is free Be sure to check correct location, the tripadvisor's location was at the time of this review completely wrong.

If you be inside, and know a bit of the history of the DDR so you can feel how the people must had feel there while standing in front of the Officier and waiting , it was a very interessting visit in Berlin.

This museum is located in the former entrance hall of Friedrichstrasse station - the security checkpoint and gateway from East to West Berlin- for the very few. Berliners tell their stories of migration and escape by video and mementos. Well worth a visit.

A fantastic little museum space...the historical site of many exchanges between east and West Berlin. This will be closing...I can't believe it! I understand they will replace it with a high rise building so I have no idea where the exhibit will go. See this bit of history (free) before it is gone.

A very good small museum that can be easily combined with visits to the many other attractions in the area. No trip to Berlin is complete without a trip to somewhere which explains the human cost of the ciy's division, and this places does that extremely well.

An excellent interesting museum. Take your passports so you can use the (free) audio guides. My kids (10 & 12) loved it too. The map location is wrong - it is in the friedrichstrasse station!

This is a great museum to visit to get an understanding of how the wall impacted on the lives of Berliners . Located at Freidrichstrasse station in the original building of the customs house , just north of station, where people had to clear customs during the period when the wall was in place. This exhibit has authentic artifacts from... More

I hate museums, but this was no museum it was an experience, it helped me understand how some of the other things I'd seen in Berlin fell in to place. You would easily pass this by without recognising it for what it is, I did , I walked by for two days ignoring it. There is no charge to enter... More

Learnt so so much in this free museum which was right next door to the Friedrichtrabe station (blue glass building, the tripadvisor map location is wrong!). Free admission and free audio guide, this museum was the station in which West Germans could catch the train to cross the wall to visit their East German relatives whilst the Berlin wall was... More
