If you really wanna see the whole pallet of the wonderful species present on the French and Italian Riviera, you definitely would wanna see this bothanical garden, it's absolutely amazing. It's a mixture of mediterranean and tropical species. Enjoy !
Probably of most interest to British people fond of Hidcote. Very interesting to compare the two, although Serre la Madone is very much a restoration still in progress. Steep and uneven paths.
We chose to visit here as it was created by Lawrence Johnson. It is in the process of being restored and still a way to go. If only time to visit a couple of gardens in the area, Val Rahmeh and Villa Maria Serena probably lovlier (and the Hanbury just across the border in Italy best of all) but worth...

Very well tended with lots of interesting vistas & features more than plants.
Serre de la Madone Garden is a must for all garden lovers visiting the south of France. Lawrence Johnston of Hidcote fame created this beautiful garden and you need to wander round in the sunshine and imagine yourself in the heyday of the French Riveria when socialites, writers and painters lived the high life.
