Not to so much to see from the old structures which existed there. Frankly we were expecting more. However we have been compensated by a nice walk around the small streets with cafes and restaurants. It has the Parisian atmosphere.

Try a city tour and if the guide is really good you'd definitely enjoy the view of it every time you go around it
Apart from the wee "tower", not much to be seen but a population not giving credit to Paris. The (modern) opera, located next to the "Place de la Bastille" does not even offer a sightseeing experience as the building is ... well quite ugly.
We werent that impressed, we took pictures to say we had been there but smaller than we imagined. The roundabout is a bit crazy with traffic too.
Good to see if you are in thera area, place is not to far from Pompidou Museum and relaxing walk from there. The greenish obelisk is nice to see.
I was disappointed with the Place de la Bastille which has no remnants of the famous structure, just a tall pillar memorial that is not very impressive and a crazy traffic circle that is by far the most unpleasant in Paris for its chaos and danger. Place de la Concorde is way better than this one… But stilll, a typical spot to go and have a picture, say you were in Paris and saw la Bastille… I was expecting it to be much bigger!

not much things to visit in this area. a lot of amercian teens hang out here as there're some ymca or equivalent hostels around here, but, this area is full of restaurants and cafes. cool places for night out too.
A historic part of the city now mainly used to protest in. when we where there students (and others) where protesting. a vibrant part of the city. also used as the start of a the skating 'race' back along the Seine to the centre,
