Absolutely amazing place to visit! Especially good on weekend afternoons when the sun is out or for Manchester pride on August Bank Holiday. Only downside is the number of straight people who have started to visit.

We went to the gay village on a hen night & really enjoyed ourselves. Us girls all felt really safe & with the amount of people there of all different cultures & sexual preferences it was very UN-judgemental. A great night out :)

Nice clubs, nice area and good atmosphere , I felt as being in a carnival party, however some of them were not very clean.

I really enjoyed my nights out in the gay village, i'm not gay but the atmosphere is great and everyone is really friendly (but not TOO friendly). The trans caberet are great fun to see. Cheap night out too.

I was expecting the gay village to be a much bigger entertainment area. It just seemed there wasn't a lot of effort put into the street.

Good atmosphere, generally friendly people but nowhere seemed to play my kind of music (rock, alternative, etc.) and the prices were pretty steep.

All the bars offer a different vibe but in 10 years of going I have never seen any trouble, which is why the village is very popular with people looking to have a good safe night out.

With the closure of Legends Club at the end of 2012 I was not sure how the other venues would react. Plenty of choice still and Canal Street is still the most popular area - but don't forget other clubs and bars in Bloom Street and the surrounding areas.
