I take my dog regulary to Stanton Park and always have a lovely peaceful walk round the forest. Lots of different walks you can go on and even if the car park is full, you may still only see the odd person as everyone takes different routes. Lovely views of the forest, house and wildlife. Although very popular to dog... More

This is a nice, quiet and in places a very secluded set of interconnected walks which may be started form any one of several car parks on the A361 at Kingsdown or Stanton Fitzwarren. The park covers over 70 hectares so once you get beyond the parts around the car park frequented by dog walkers it very possible to be... More

Have lived in Stratton for 4 yrs and only discovered Stanton Park a year ago after attending a wedding at The Stanton House Hotel. Now go regularly for walks with the little ones, love the quietness that you don't get at Lydiard or Coate Water, plus you really get to experience the season changes here, which I love.

Ideal spot for a gently stroll through some classic woodlands and around a beautiful lake. Interesting exhibition of funghi, slugs and snails in the Fogotten Kingdom. The adjacent Stanton House Hotel is good to look at and even better to stay in (one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had and an interesting Japanese restaurant in the evening)
