The house is a little gem. There is also a walled garden. « less

I used to live next door to the park so it has lots of childhood memories and is still a lovely place. On a sunny day it is perfect for a picnic with family and friends. Feels so safe for families and is always maintained so well by the park rangers.

We just popped in to have a walk and were pleased to find the parking was free. We didn't have time to view the house and closed gardens, but we'll certainly go back to do that. We also wanted to do the high wire climbing course, but at the moment they only have a child's course - the adult one... More

I loved the big open spaces however there should be a rule about dogs being on a lead at all times, after all, dogs that are running loose cannot tell you where they have pooed in order for it to be picked up! Not pleasant if you sit on the grass! there is no visible prescence of staff to enforce... More

Nice hotel and conference hall in the middle of a big park. Nice friendly staff. Excellent lunch. Plenty of parking available.

We live 10 - 15 mins away and love it . We don`t go in the Manor House or anything we stick o the Parks / Bike rides and walks with the dog . Firstly all the historic buildings in the main grounds are lovely and all the nature is lovely also. The Manor House costs rather alot to go in... More

If I lived nearby then I would definitely come here lots to walk with friends etc - it is a really good park. However it isn't worth trekking here especially as at the end of the day it is just aa park and you've probably got the equivalent nearby. I would of liked to have gone in the house -... More

Before planning a visit, I recommend checking the informative website in case one wishes to attend/avoid certain events. The extensive grounds, carpeted with well-established spring bulbs on my most recent visit, are attractively laid out with lake, walks and play areas for children - but my interest was in the house and church, for which there is a modest charge.... This is a wonderful park on the outskirts of Swindon; which is all the better for the investment that the local council have put in recently Great place to go for a walk, the walled garden looks great. My suggestion is that there is a gift shop to buy stuff there as there is a potential & it's been missed

A lovely place with staff that coul not help enough. What you can see of the house is limited but well worth seeing. The painting collection is impressive and the information provided is both interesting and enlightening. The church, next to the house, is kept locked and understandably so. the key can bw obtained from the house, and is worth... More

Lydiard park is great when you have a bit of sunshine. You can hire BBQ's for half a day or full day (can't take your own I don't think) which is fab. There are play areas for children, lovely walks, a lake, a café, ice cream kiosk, and a new rope trail park. However, that really isn't suitable for young... More
