This should refer to St Munchins church on church street, beside the castle. You can actually see one church from the doors of the other, about a three minute walk. It was rebuilt in 1827 and has apparently been the location of places of worship as far back as the 5th century. Island theatre company had their h.q there until...

Contrary to what trip advisor says, this church is open and functioning as a place of worship. Masses are held there regularly.
