I went back to the White House recently after an absense of several years and it is as good as I remember it. Top class service, the nicest pint I've had in a long time and a good atmosphere.

Billed as the best traditional pub in Limerick in some guide book it did not let us down. Very cozy atmospheric pub. Lots of wood. Cons - Low pub stools at some tables but these seem to be common in Ireland, and its a bit warmer inside than I would like, but that also seems to be a common thing...

Go there on a Wednesday night to hear all the local poets reading their stuff in an open mic session, free entry and sausages and chips are served. After the open mic (kicks off around 9) there's a reading by some well-known poet. These sessions are eclectic, alive, sometimes brilliant, sometimes maudlin, sometimes heart-stoppingly beautiful!
