This highly recommended excursion began with a long voyage in an open boat across the Killarney lakes and along the river. Amazing wooded mountains, totally unspoilt. The Gap itself is a steepish mountain pass, with a road full of twists and turns. Some members of our party chose to walk along the road and it took two to two and... More

Approach the Gap via a narrow road and call at the woolen shop then a coffee at Kate Karneys Cottage, then step onboard a jaunting car for a trip up the Gap. Most Memorable More

This is a lovely place to visit and we did a trip so were taken by boat to the start of the gap. It is best to do the tour in this direction because you can take as long as you want on the way through the gap and it is a better walk as more downhill. If you do... More

Four of us took a jaunting car from Kate Kearneys' Cottage. 40 euro and it took us as far as the fourth lake. A bit over one hour in total. Driver was nice. The scenery is amazing with the lakes, mountains, sheep. You can also walk it but you need a few hours for it, we didn't have much time... More

We got a horse and trap into the gap of Dunloe. It was very beautiful. The 'driver' was very good and gave us some information about the area as we were passing through. We had our dog with us & she was allowed to come with us on the 3 mile trip, would recommend. It is especially enjoyable when the... More

Wow is all I can say, we did the trip through the lakes before getting dropped off at Lord Brandons Cottage and then we walked back to Kate Kearneys in the rain, hail, fog and wind. It was an experience we will never forget and cannot wait to do it again next weekend! More
