Absolutely breathtaking views on a coastal drive along high cliffs looking out on the Atlantic Ocean. At one point we took a road down to a sandy beach that was spectacular. We like it better than the Ring of Kerry.

The road around the peninsular can be challenging in places and not for the fainthearted. It is, however, well worth the trouble and the vistas fantastic even on a misty day. The town of Dingle is pretty and the locals very friendly & helpful.
It's all about the views. And there are literally an uncountable number. Even on an overcast day, the drive is worth it. My only complaint was that I had to drive and couldn't look as much. This drive takes about an hour and is time well spent. Mother Nature's handy work is breathtakingly beautiful. We hadn't planned to do it,...

Wow is about all you can say. The entire peninsula just has so many views, you could just stop and take in nature for hours on end. The small villages along the way are worth stopping on the trip.
I only wishe there were more cutouts so you could pull off and view the pastures along the ocean. Just wonderful....

We drove around the Dingle Peninsula on Sunday 7th April. We spent the whole day there and the scenery was just beautiful. We stopped at the Fammine Cottages and for 3 euro each was worth the visit. We walked around Dingle and found it to be very clean and people were very friendly.
We also visited the visitors centre for...

I was so excited about the chance to go see Dingle since the movie Leap Year, even though it realy wasn't shot there. I was suprised to find that every single turn on this very scenic route was breathtaking. I would have loved to spend a day more just going around this area again, or slower. I loved this part...

Everything you'd want in a scenic drive: Spectacular coastlines, ice-carved valleys, granite hills and lots of sheep. It was practically deserted over the Easter weekend, allowing for a very easy and relaxed drive. Plenty of little towns along the way. You could do the drive in about 3 hours, but we spent 6 just wandering about, and had it been...

Bad weather meant giving the entire Ring of Kerry a miss, but two days in Dingle meant time to enjoy the drive through the peninsular to the pretty town, and an afternoon exploring the Slea
Continued out onto the Dingle Peninsula after driving the Ring. Quaint town of Dingle made us welcome with a hearty lunch and some souvies near the harbour. Well worth the extra Kms to get here. The rolling slope of the countryside dropping off into the Castlemaine harbour and the North Atlantic adds to the charm of this place.
If it's a choice between exploring the Iveragh peninsula and the Dingle Peninsula, choose Dingle; it really has everything, including the obligatory hideous houses, but even they can't detract from the elemental beauty of this area! In addition, great craic is to be had in the pubs of Dingle.
