We arrived at 4.30pm tickets are then half price, although it closes at 5pm we had enough time to look at the famous book, then marvel at the library with its thousands of books and interesting artefacts in display cases as you walk through. Once outside the grounds are worth looking around

If you Like history you'll really enjoy it. Good information and history on the book of Kells and other books and how the monks created them. Interesing looking at the books of Kell in the display case and the intricate art work and writing. The long hall is also worth seeing for the sheer size.

Anyone who loves history and/or art should make this a priority during their stay in Dublin. While it can become very crowded with massive groups coming through, the exhibit is break taking and the actual books don't disappoint. Make sure to take your time in the Long Hall after the exhibit, it takes quite a while to take it all... More

The Book of Kells was beautiful but the exhibit was compact and a bit tedious. Not everyone in my group wanted to read the derails; I wish we'd all rented the audio-tour. After the exhibit, go on to see the Long Library of Harry Potter fame. It's truly amazing in itself.

We stood in line for a long time to see the Book of Kells. There was an informative exhibit about the creation of illuminated texts to peruse as we waited. Once in the room, I found the experience a bit anti-climactic. It was beautiful, but there were only two pages displayed, along with some other texts. Unfortunately, there was no... More

To see the Book of Kells was the first thing on my list to visit Dublin. Although you can only see 2 pages of the book, the exhibition fully introduced and illuminated the book, and other similar books. Each letter at beginning of each paragraph was lavishly decorated. Symbolic illustrations were fascinating and beautiful. You learned how the book was... More

I was looking forward to this, but was unimpressed. Mostly just boards with text on the history and then just 2 pages displayed. Overall very boring, and overrated. The Long Room is part of the tour and that is worth it. I suggest doing Book of Kells but spending most of your time in the Long Room.

Lucky for us, no line or crowd. Museum interesting and informative, but only 2 pages of the book are displayed. The "Long Room" library upstairs was impressive. I would have been disappointed had we waited in a long line.

alot to pay for only getting a few minutes to see it. The long room was way better! We went in may and did have to wait for about 15mins to get it. They only allow a certain amount of people in at a time, but still felt rushed and overcrowded.
