Wow - what a treasure!!! If I ever come back to Dublin, I want to sleep in this place!!! I had severe time constraints, so could only do a cherry-picking whip around to see what I had researched online. But oh, words cannot describe what an amazing experience it was to see the papyrus on which a part of the... More

I thought it was going to be nice carved wood, and that would be about it. Turned out to be one of the most astonishing collections and emotional experiences I've ever had in a historical building of any kind. Make sure to watch the movie about Chester Beatty. It's very interesting. More

This free museum has a remarkable collection of illuminated manuscripts, very early Biblical texts, and is exceptionally well curated. I have been to hundreds of great museums and this is my very favorite. More

I am a collector of East Asian Art and West Asian Antiquities. The Chester Beatty Library is strong in both areas. Wonderful holdings, well displayed and explained. And delicious food may be had in the Silk Roads Cafe. I've visited many times, and will be there again on 24.May. More

This a great find and a real change of pace. The collections are fascinating, especially the collections on the world's religions. When we visited, some of the regular collections were closed (a disappointment) but what we saw was great. It can be a bit tricky to find, but worth it. There is also an outstanding restaurant - The Silk Road... More

We stopped into the Beatty Library on the last of 4 days in Dublin, almost as an add-on, and I am SO GLAD we did! Do not be confused by the name "library" - it is a museum with a collection of religious manuscripts from Christianity, Islam and more, that is nothing short of amazing. I left there contemplating humankind.... More
