A very worthwhile tour to take while in Dublin. The stories of brother against brother will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand. And the outside area is spine tingling
The guided tour of this old jail was very interesting. I learnt lots more about Irish history and the personal stories of some of the people who spent time as inmates. Well presented time line through the life of the jail.

The spirit of the men executed after the Easter Uprising are still floating around, and our tour guide, Declan, gave us enough information to understand the long struggle... More
Well worth the 6 euro it cost to get in. Just make sure you pay for parking outside of it, so that you don't get a ticket (or a boot!). The tour is about an hour long, but you'll want extra time to check out the museum as well. The guided tour was thorough and exciting. Our tour guide was... More

We got there by taking the LUAS tram from central city to St James Hospital and enjoyed a pleasant walk through the grounds of the Museum of Modern Art - formerly the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Our visit was in November, so the wait was quite short. Our guide was extremely... More

Only does guided tours which are very informative and entertaining. Gives a good perspective of Ireland's history and the conditions of the day. Takes approximately... More

Even if you are not keen in knowing the history, you will be in awe of the place itself. The walls, doors and corridors will tell you so much of the place... More
