My husband and I travelled with 2 friends and were very lucy to have John as our guide - exploring the Scottish Highlands for 5 days. John is from this region originally and has so much knowledge of the history (this is his hobby), that this turned out to be an exceptional experience. He is a very charming person and... More

John ( who is Ian for his family) is one of a charming kind who can win your hearts with his well cultured and well manured behavior. He always make the mood lighter with his smile and share so much of history about the place that you feel like knowing more and more. If we get a chance to book... More

In August our Granddaughter and daughter-in-law took a trip with John to Isle of Skye and absolutely loved it. So, when our granddaughter told us she had a week off from her studies at St Andrews University and asked if we wanted to come visit, we jumped at the chance and started working with John on a 3 day itinerary.... My wife and I took a four day tour with John MacDonald, and every minute of it was just perfect. John is super knowledgable about all things Scotland. John is from the Highlands, and his love for the region comes through in his story telling. We learned a ton about Scotland and the Highlands, but at no point did we... More

My 10-year-old son and I could not have had more fun with John. We learned so much about Scottish history, flora, fauna, culture. It was just a great day and worth every penny. We can't wait to go back and do a multi-day tour! John was the best - he sets the bar so high no one else can compare... More

We took our second tour with John , a six day tour designed for us. It was amazing, like the most enjoyable history and anthropology course. It was fun, fascinating and in a beautiful place. We did seven ferries, drove over a thousand miles and were never bored, tired or uncomfortable. We are 70 years old and the organization John... More

Our guide John was exceptionally informative and quite knowledgeable in the history of the Scots and of the land. He spoke very passionately about Scotland and it came through with his great personality. I very much enjoyed our tour, and would definitely have him as a guide again. More

John is a gentleman. We took a 2 day tour of Isle of Skye and John always seems to have a special view to end the day with. Needless to say he is knowledgeable and talks interesting. I was travelling with wife and parents. My parents are new to the country and they were very comfortable all throughout the tour... More
