This is a super collection of artefacts from around the world. They date to some mind blowing eras especially given the excellence of the articles. We live in times when we think we invented things and then find they existed BC in a pretty good form. It is free to enter and they do have a nice little cafe. Lifts... More

Throughout his long and comfortable life Mr Burrell collected pretty, shiny and marvelous things from all parts of the world which he then gave to Glasgow. You will find them tastefully and informatively displayed in purpose-built modern accommodation within a large urban park. Very well worth the half day you will need to do the art works justice. Nice cafe... More

This wonderful eclectic collection belonged Sir William Burrell, who was a wealthy Glaswegian shipping magnate and art collector, who then gifted it to the city of Glasgow Corporation in 1944. The collection is housed in a specially built museum in the beautiful surroundings of Pollok Park and consists of stained glass and tapestries, oak furniture, medieval weapons and armour, Islamic... William Burrells huge collection of artifacts was left to the city of Glasgow who built a beautiful modern museum in Pollock Park Glasgow. The art works are hugely varied and the interior of the museum is designed to give you glimpses of what you have still to see by clever use of a seemingly floating upper floor. The park surrounding the... More

Our SUPERB guide Morna brought alive the history of William Burrell and his multi million pound collection, which he gifted to the people of Glasgow. I learnt much about history e. g. Chinese collection , embroidery. Can't believe entry was free ! Sadly the roof needs repair, so do visit and support this amazing attraction. Quality gift shop, great for... More

The Burrell Collection is worth a visit. It is not only set in the beautiful Pollok Park, where you can view the famous Highland Coo grazing peacefully, but the collection is quite outstanding. I especially enjoyed the tapestries which capture moments in history like an ancient photograph. The eclectic pieces from many different periods in history and around the globe... More

I have visited this collection many times over a number of years and each time am amazed by the variety of exhibits to be seen. Although the collections themselves from different countries don't differ much the exhibits within each area change to allow maximum viewing of the total collection. The collection is situated within a bright modern building which does... More
