One explores Edinburgh’s Old & New towns and the other tour the lower half of the Royal Mile called the Canongate. On each of these tours you will visit visit unusual/hidden restaurants, bars and shops, taste dishes specially prepared for you. Sample individually selected drinks (beers, wine and whisky), talk to the chefs/owners and discover the history behind the properties. The Old & new town tour ( 2pm-5.30pm) is the original tour which tastings ensure you will not need to worry about dinner in the evening while the Canongate tour (10am-1pm) takes care of lunch. The Old & New town tour was recommended in August 2012 BBC Good Food Magazine as a "Don't miss" thing to do in Edinburgh. Delicious magazine also has it down as a must do. « less

This is a must tour if you are in Edinburgh for any reason! A fun way to learn about the city's history, visit restaurants and other locations that you may not know about otherwise. Our tour guide was a native and knowledgeable about all the history which she shared along the way. Enjoyed our side trip to the small shop,... More

We did Eat Walk on our first day in Edinburgh, feeling that it would give us a good layout of the city while sampling foods. The hop on hop off bus for this cold and sometimes blustery city seemed a harsh way to get a first glimpse of the city as we usually do in a new place. Thee walking... More

My wife and I took the Eat Walk Tour during our recent visit to Edinburgh. we both thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Alan was very knowledgeable. The food stops were well chosen, the food was excellent and the tour of the "new " Ediinburgh was interesting since we had not seen that part of town. I really enjoyed the haggis and... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our eating, drinking and walking tour with Alan, our host. My family of 5, all adults now, really enjoyed the history, shopping, and restaurant/pubs he talked about on the tour. The walk was easy and un-hurried. The restaurants were out and about, and all were very good. The restaurant staff would tell us what we were eating and... More

We started at the Hotel du Vin, which in its self is steeped in history; you get your own radio ear piece so you don’t miss anything. It was a bit windy during the tour and the commentary form our guide got a bit distorted but that really was the only down side. Visiting many different areas of the city... More

This was surprise gift at Christmas - a guided tour of our own city :) The truth is that everyone should do that - and that very much includes those of us who are fortunate to live in a city with such variety. The idea of doing this as an upscale pub crawl is excellent - top marks. Our guide... More

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Edinburgh. The EWE food tour is a wonderful way to learn about the culture, history and the food in Edinburgh/Scotland. Our host, Alan, was very knowledgeable and answered all of questions during the tour. He also recommended several other restaurants in the area to try and they were also very... More

An excellent walk by a very knowledge guide. The food was superb on all of our stops. The stand out stop was the Whisky society which we felt privileged to have visited, the haggis with the whisky sauce was such a delicacy. We are cheese addicts and could have swapped our dessert for a bigger cheese platter at the wine... More

I have done several walking food tours in NYC and they were great but this tour was amazing. The quality of food and the experience were excellent. Learned a lot of about the history of Edinburgh too. Alan our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun. I would definitely, advise anyone that is visiting Edinburgh to do this tour!

A great walking food tour that gave us a solid insight into the history of Edinburgh, it's buildings, it's streets and it's interesting past inhabitants. And to accompany, we were taken to places in Edinburgh that I'm sure we would never have known about, or found on our own, 6 places in total. We started off in the Old town,... More
