Intended to stay just half an hour. Stayed 3 hours, walking the wonderful gardens and visiting the cottage (twice!). Totally and utterly impressed. I was expecting to be underwhelmed, I wasn't.

Not just the cottage itself was fantastic, also the way to arrive to it through a small wood area and next to the canal was great.
I think this was the first time I´ve been in such an old building and was amazing to know a farmer´s house in that good conservation state. The gardens are also really beautiful

Interesting house and very pretty garden. Make sure you go right inside the willow arbour in the garden and sit on the seat. If you push the buttons in front of you you can hear a sonnet or two - very romantic! ( It's not very obvious if you just peek inside)

Website really easy to use and certainly the best way to book tickets - discount online too and avoid queues; not that there were big queues as the weather was miserable!!...
