Walking, cycling or driving is just a perfect way to spend time in this forest near Dorking. I love the views and the atmosphere. Plenty of parking places, pretty villages, good pubs. Everything you need for a perfect day out.

Totally blown away by Frank's wood; the best bluebell wood I have ever seen in my life. Almost reluctant to recommend as don't want the crowds running there....
The weather! The woods, the history of Surrey Hills, the picturesque villages, the walking trails, the tranquillity of the woods, the cakes at The Leith Hill tower, the pubs (The Parrot at Forrest Green, The Abinger Hatch at Abinger Common, the post office at Abinger Hammer, the views! Fantastic!
The byways up the hill from Coldharbour are grate for the off road beginner in the evenings. A good ramble at the weekends but look out for the lunatic mountain bikers who are intent on killing themselves, even if it does mean taking out a few ramblers too.

What a wonderful place - Leith Hill Rhododendron Woods! Like being in another world, a veritable Wonderland! We went to see where our friend's ashes had been scattered - a sad yet happy experience...
parked car in the easy car park for easy walk - easy walk going to a folly/tower - fantastic view - down to London skyscrapers in the distance on a beautiful sunny day - refreshment counters (hot and cold , cakes , sandwiches , ice-cream tubs run by local farm at the tower which does not cost a bomb !...

An old favourite-Nice to get away from the busy South East with a walk up the well managed Leith Hill to the Tower. Busy these days. The 4x4 cars do spoil it rather.
Has to be one of my favourite walks especially on a clear day as it was last week and to be rewarded at the tower with excellent refreshments, which are now open 364 days .
The walk to the top of Leith Hill from Coldharbour is delightful since the return journey can terminate at the local hostelry. There are many walks in the vicinity with views to the south coast one way and towards London the other way.A wonderful day-out
