Eclectic interior, and very different from the more manicured National Trust properties we have usually visited, so worth a look for this alone. Part of the HHA scheme too which was why we visited. Nice gardens and if you want to walk a bit further afield there are public footpaths around the wider grounds.

Because the weather was good we had a very good day in the farm, old farm buildings, and the grounds. Not so good in the house as there was no one to give any information about the rooms or building. We also found the same with the old farm buildings no information.

Went here on 21st April, lovely blue sky & the sun was shinning. Long drive in till you see a sign for car park, ground was very muddy with deep ruts. Picnic tables to use near car park area as you are not able to take your own food inside the grounds. To get in you had to enter the... More

Many thanks for your comments. We welcome visitors to Kentwell, which is a lived in family home, and which the owners have worked hard to save from neglect, to restore and to furnish without any public grants. It's an ongoing challenge, with something always needing attention! Many visitors have enjoyed following the progress at Kentwell over many years. We allow... More

As a family of mixed ages ranging from a 2 year old up to 60+ we all enjoyed the day out on Easter Sunday. We came away having learnt a lot more about life in the 16 th century. The "Tudors" taking part on this day were very knowledgeable about the area they were working in and especially enjoyed the... More

Visited on Easter Sunday and really enjoyed it. There was a special themed day, were people dressed up in character and acted out the parts, which was fun and interesting. The people involved put a huge amount of effort into making sure that the day went well and it paid off. The house and grounds and animals are all amazing.... More

We are sorry that you were disappointed. Kentwell Hall does not open during the early months of the year. It closes for essential maintenance and repairs and for the family to enjoy some privacy, as Kentwell Hall is a private residence. This information is freely available on our website and in our brochures and if you had telephoned before visiting... More

Lovely building, and lots going on outside in the grounds. A little expensive though. Go on a day when they have a themed activity day.

For us, Kentwells' Dickensian Christmas produced some truly magical moments. It is a very strange place... a grand country house which has seen better times and is now seems to be inhabited by re-enactors who remain totally and utterly in character no matter what is said to them. They will either allow visitors to drift through the building like whispering... More
