Obviously a well loved museum by all who work there, lots of interesting things to look at and gives a good history of Whitby.
Didn't realise whitby even had a park, never mind a museum in it! Wow, what a great find! The museum is crammed full with exhibits and info and really is very interesting. The art gallery is superb too! At 2.50 each (Student discount) it was an excellent hour out and we would definitely return.

Excellent museum. We spent hours there (2 adults, one 10 year old and one 4 year old). Very friendly staff too, who explained some of the exhibits. Nice cakes in the cafe too and board games for the children.
This is a wonderful museum jam packed with well explained local exhibits, paintings and costumes.Just like museums used to be. Our grandchildren thought it as great 15, 13 and 7. The cafe is good with home made food and a warm friendly atmosphere, shame its in the basement. A good place to visit on a rainy day.
