Lunched here on May 1, 2013. Extremely disappointed by the food ordered, for three big kids and myself. Sausage starter was so unrefined it was off-putting, and no one touched it: two sausages cut into big chunks, with two dip pots of... industrial ketchup and mustard. That's it. As for the fish and chips, the fish was utterly (and I... More

We popped in on our way to the shard. Service was prompt but hardly the friendliest, outside balcony was pleasant but the Guinness was the worst I have ever had and I've had a few. Did try and return it but the bar was way to busy. If i or anyone i knew worked for Diagio the owners of Guinness... More

we went here for Easter Sunday Lunch with Friends. I expected an original old historical pub with the feel of old London. not the case. whilst some of the original building was there, the fact that it has been added to and modernised, really takes away the original "old" feeling of it and you could be in any pub anywhere... I was walking the London Bridge and I found this place, I stopped for some drinks and the beer was good (London Pride) and my wife asked for a Gin and tonic. We ordered food and I choose fish and chips (the large portion) and my wife had a hamburger, the fish was good but nothing special, the hamburger was... More

Once a fine pub, decades ago in a time when attracting custom was a challenge. Since this area of London has become so righteously trendy, attention to detail seems to have been lost. This pub is old, very old. It has many bars inside it, a fish and chip shop, and bar food. It has a wine bar, and snugs... More

Good location next to the Globe Theatre. Didn't eat here as it was out first port of call, however lovely pub with great atmosphere and very inviting.

Ordered steak pie and mash potatoes and vegetables. The mash was dense and luke warm. The vegetables were cold, as was the gravy. The pie crust was tough and inedible. The meat inside was fatty. I left most of it, and actually felt sick after eating what I had eaten. I took my parents there for lunch, thinking we would... More

I have been many times in The Anchor and I have to say that the this place is one of my favourites in terms of atmosphere. Although, the food is not that great and the average time to order something from the bar is quite high.

nice place, but the service is almost inexistent: we had to wait more than 1h to have our plates! and the food wasn't even so good. impolite waiters. don't go there, really!
