I was really excited about visiting this centre and went considerably out of my way on public transit to do so. I have always had falconing fantasies and was looking forward to seeing giant birds perform majestic circles overhead and perhaps bagging a photo of myself with a bird perched on gloved hand. However, the entire experience seems geared towards... More

Although the weather was cold and windy the visit was very good, all the birds were viewable in their cages or on display. The Falconer was very knowledgable and passed the information in a very numerous way. The flying was excellent and being allowed to partake in the display with the Harris Hawk made the visit very memorable. We will... More

Had a great day at the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre on 25 May 2013. We arrived at 11am when it opened & had a coffee & home made cake before looking round the birds, then I soaked up the peace & tranquillity whilst my husband photographed all the birds. We had bought a groupon voucher & had no problems... More

We visited the centre today for our friends birthday, there are four of us and we really enjoyed it. The Birds of prey were excellent and Paul was very knowledgeable. We went into the tea rooms and received a very warm welcome. The cream tea which consisted of a scone thick with jam and cream were really nice and we... More

Me and my partner had a fantastic day out at the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre. Paul the Falconer was very knowledgeable and passionate about the birds he had. He was very friendly and involved the audience at every point possible throughout the show. My partner had Douglas one of the Birds land on his arm it was an amazing... More

We dropped in to the centre last week and found the staff very friendly and welcoming, It was a bit cold so a quick walk around the enclosures was followed by a quick trip to Penrith before the flying display. It's helpful that the ticket is an all day that allows you in and out of the site as suits... More

Just read the 2 reviews below and must say how different our view of the cafe was. We took advantage of a Living Social deal and enjoyed some refreshements after the fantastic display. The cafe needs to be accepted for what it is: a traditional and homely place to relax and enjoy a good cuppa. How many cafe's are there... More

Purchased a Groupon voucher for £12 which included admission & cream tea for 2. The centre is situated in the village of Lowther & was clearly sign posted off the M6. When we entered through the cafe we presented the Groupon voucher & the lady behind the counter looked disappointed, we asked if there was an issue with the voucher... More

I need to split this into two. The bird show and the tea. The bird show was excellent. The Falconer was very knowledgeable and informative having some good banter with those present. All the birds were great performing for the crowd, but happy to do so. You can see all the birds as well as you walk around the centre.... More
