I have been fortunate enough to go to Glyndebourne several times. Even though I am not a massive Opera lover, I have always found it a great experience, even in the rain. I prefer the picnic to the restaurants, but both are fine. I would recommend to go, if you have never been. And the idea that it is snobbish... More

We go to the opera every year at Glyndebourne and absolutely love it. The gardens are amazing and the setting is wonderful. I can only comment on the bar and the grounds as I have never eaten at the restaurant, but even without this it is well worth a visit.

It's reasonably exclusive, but the Opera house has ticket offers every now and again which are definately worth hunting for. See some of the best opera productions in the country in a beautiful indoor theatre. Don't forget your picnic for the itnerval!

Last year I got heat stroke on the coach provided by Glyndbourne during a lengthy trip at 42C with no air conditioning. I missed the prepaid meal and the opera and spent the evening in the first aid room. Glyndbourne management absolutely refused to discuss a refund or replacement tickets. Last night I assisted an opera patron who collapsed in... More

Glyndebourne - operatic heaven, is my favourite place on earth. I have now been going there for over twenty years and have never seen a production there I haven't liked- and I go to the opera a lot. Imago - their latest production - and a world premiere at that, is what has prompted this particular recommendation. An immediately accessible... More

The tale of Christie's vision realised at Glyndebourne is the stuff of an opera plot. Superb music in a beautiful setting and a wonderful new concert hall. Do not die without going to see Mozart performed here!

for as long as I can remember we come to visit and listen to music as part of the brighton Festival. It is all so civilised arriving early for starters drinks and main course, dessert in interval and cheese at the end. Music is always delightful with brilliant acoustics.

We saw The Wedding of Figaro, performed in '70's garb and with appropriate dance moves. It was an absolutely splendid performance. The guides were wery helpful to us newcomers, but there could have been more ( or maybe just more experienced ) staff at the bars.

The visit to Glyndebourne was the reason for our group visit to the Lewes area and the highlight of our holiday. It is nice that you can arrive early and tour round the grounds and the music room. The opera Marriage of Figaro was excellent very lively and set I think in the 60's. We all thought it was a... More
