This pub is as popular as ever and, as previous reviews have stated, doesn't seem to have changed in decades, if not centuries. The pub has been kept, quite rightly in my opinion, simple with great beer and great pasties. In the summer months it's packed out with walkers and cyclists covering the available seating as well as any patch... More

We stopped here for pint and pasty after Coasteering in Langton Matravers. Great pub garden with plenty of seating, and fantastic views of the coast.

My girlfriends and I came to this after a long walk along the coast path. We were supposed to walk back but we ended up staying late and getting a taxi back. What a wonderful place just so full of charm. I doubt very much it has changed in the last 200 years and I hope it stays the same... More

Found this pub some 20 years ago. Have to visit for a pie & pint when ever we are on the purbeck. Great cellar cooled ales, unusual garden seating and great country views. They have regular folk type music, loved the Carrivick sisters, hope to be visiting soon.

Went here recently for the first time in 30 years. Hasn't changed a bit. Good selection of beer straight out of the barrels and in superb condition. Pies and pasties available on paper plates and that's it. Wonderful location. There are fewer and fewer of thes proper drinking pubs left. I've made a mental note to not leave it another... More

24th May 2013. Drank 3 beers ... all well kept and London priced. The pub itself is an American tourist's wet dream ... beamed and beautiful but not necessarily comfortable ... get there early for a seat. Otherwise you will find yourself sitting on a dog. Great band and a great crowd. Especially 8 year ( and 18 day )... More

This picturesque pub is a real gem in the quiet village of Worth Matravers. The local beers are superb. Bar food is simple but extremely tasty (just pies and pasties). I visited here a few years ago and one of our party were a little disappointed at the lack of variety on the menu but I feel it adds to... More
