If you are in Dorset this is a must. Take the steam train from Norden for a fantastic view and when you finally get there you can feel the history. I find it difficult to believe when you look at position of the castle how anyone was able to breech its walls. Cromwell has a lot to answer for. More

This castle is located on top of the hill so you will need to be ready for a climb but its worth it. Its wonderful to see what is left of this great castle, surely worth to visit. More

we walked from Swanage across the ridge and you can see the castle from afar as you approach, it's majestic. Excellent National Trust tea shop with views from the garden of the castle. More

I have visited Corfe Castle many times over the past 40 years. It has been much better since the National Trust took it over. Full of history and intrigue these beautiful castle ruins should be visited with the help of one of the wonderful national trust guides. We were fortunate enough to benefit from the enthusiasm and expertise of ian, Elizabeth and Miranda - all incredibly charming and knowledgeable. More

This attraction is steeped in History dating back to 970 AD. The National Trust has done a fine job maintaining this ruin. The leaning walls defy gravity with many of the outer walls some metre in thickness. It is simply impossible to imagine the human endeavour required to build these massive defences. The many photographs that you will take provide... More
