We ended up feeling quite sorry for some of the exhibits who didn't seem to have much of a life in small enclosures. Especially the poor loggerhead turtle, reef sharks and rays in the so called 'giant' ocean display. They just kept going around and around in what for them would be such a small area. We were all left... More

We had to park quite a walk away from the aquarium and on the day we visited it lashed with rain so not good! Pushchairs appeared to have to be left in reception which didn't allow much room. Our 2 year old hated it as very dark (I guess to make natural and realistic habitats!) Our 6 year old enjoyed... More

I really was disappointed with The Blue Reef. I took my 2 year old there on a rainy day during my holiday and it took less than an hour to walk around the whole thing. The tickets cost almost £10 for an adult and it definitely wasn't worth any more than £5 honestly. The only good thing was that the... More

Just visited this aquarium today as we were looking for something to whilst in Newquay on a miserable windy Thursday (not I dislike weather like that, but it's hardly sunbathing conditions). Picked this place after checking TripAdvisor. Me and my partner did the round in about an hour and thought it was perfectly enjoyable. I keep fish at home so... More

We had a fantastic time at the aquarium. Although we have never been before, it was just breath taking some of the animals that they have there. We really enjoyed our visit!

Can't recommend this enough, fulfilled a dream of mine to be close to a shark, staff are all very knowledgeable and passionate about the animals in their care. Encourage questions and offer information of initiatives that are in place world wide for protection of certain species! This was just an amazing day out, can't stop talking about it!!!

Great way to spend a morning. So many tanks, so many different types of marine life, all of them easily viewed. Big tanks as well, so there were plenty of fish/creatures to see. I liked the "nursery" area with the baby seahorses, really different. And the neon jellyfish. And the walkway under the big tank of sharks, etc.

Well, Caiman's actually, but that doesn't stand out as well. At the time of our visit they had two small Caiman's on loan from London Zoo. Stunning to watch up close.

This aquarium is smaller than some others I have visited but has everything we wanted to see. There are talks throughout the day and the best was the Giant Pacific Octopus which ate a live crab in front of us, a bit mean but really interesting! Other highlights were the Loggerhead Turtle and the sharks which you could go through... More
