We arranged to meet a friend at Dyrham Park but sadly the weather was awful. We were not going to be put off and joining a tour to observe the deer. The tour guide was knowledgeable, flexible and friendly. The shop is well worth a visit too, they stock some really nice things. We also visited the restaurant and consumed... More

National Trust waived fees for the weekend and prompted 100s of people to visit, me included. Best thing about the grounds: rare fritillaries growing near the ponds and plenty of space for a picnic. The house is exactly what you would expect from a stately home and so your enjoyment will depend on how much you like room after room... More

Well worth a visit particularly to walk down to the house from the car park if you can make it (but catch the bus back up!). If you have the time/inclination then a stroll though the park to see the deear and the westward views from the far side are well worth the effort. I particularly like the gardens and... More

Very easy to find, only about 10-15 mins from the M4 motorway and directly off the A-road. Large gravel car-park and field overflow carpark (which was needed as very popular when we visited). £11 to visit the whole property (park, gardens and grounds) so fairly expensive, but a lot to see. Usual NT spiel to join when paying at the... More

A place for a half day's visit on a sunny day. Less enjoyable during poor weather as one is very much exposed to the elements

To be honest i only visited Dyrham Park because its a close NT place to where I live and to be honest I did have high expectations. There is ample parking at the entrance and you have the choice to walk to the house or catch the shuttle bus to the house. I recommend one of the four paths and... More

This property is not my favourite NT but as always it depends on personal preferences. It has a fine sweeping downward drive from the car park to the house. Those who are not inclined to walk can catch the minibus shuttle from top to bottom though. If you like sweeping expanses of grass to walk the dog this is an... More
