We spent a day with Jeff, out of Poet's Cove, and had a great experience with 2 pods of orca and a minke. Then a sea lion colony on the return trip. Jeff was kind enough to e-mail some terrific pictures from our day - thank you! Suits supplied, but a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen a must in fair weather. More

Jeff is amazing. He knows so much, is extremely eco aware and so respectful of all of the wildlife. He is a master seaman and navigator. You always feel safe with Jeff although he is never cloying. My family and I had a spectacular time and hardily recommend Emerald Sea Adventures - pros from the beginning to the end. More

We looked for a whale excursion on August 11 for our family (2 parents and one child about 11y) and booked Emerald Sea Adventures because of the great reviews on Tripadvisor. We can only say that our high expectations were even exceeded! We met another family a few days before our boat trip who had booked a boat in Victoria... More

We went out at 1700 hrs on a Monday evening; the poster outside the office said "whales guaranteed" and they were there in large numbers after the 30 minute ride out to the San Juan Islands. Jeff provided a great insight into their lives and society, identifying specific orca by their pod and number designations. This was done in an... More

Jeff provided a wonderful trip with up-close whale watching in a small boat. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to photographers needs. We also went out on another trip in a larger boat but it wasn't nearly as much fun and did not provide as much action as with the Emerald Sea trip. More

This was my third whale watching experience and was by far the best. The fact that the boat is smaller makes the entire experience more intimate and Jeff is a fantastic guide. The whales got really close to us and the viewing was excellent. He is full of fun facts and really wants you to enjoy the trip and the... More

I was able to experience Emerald Sea Adventures recently with my girlfriend and my parents. It was a perfect clear and calm evening and there were more Orcas out than I ever could have imagined. We were able to see them breech several times and it was amazing. I will be going back to visit Jeff again some day for... More

If Real Whale Watching is what you want, then Emerald Sea is the place to go. Can't speak too highly of this trip. The boat is an exciting ride, the skipper Jeff Wonnenberg is both eco sensitive and knowledgable. He is willing to stay out as long as it takes to get you to see whales in all their natural... More

Jodi, my daughter in law from California, and I had a fantastic whale-watching trip with Jeff of Emerald Seas. The day was extremely foggy and, therefore, it was very difficult to locate the whales. Jeff skillfully navigated the boat and found the pod. He had great rapport with the other captains which helped us locate the pod in these difficult... More

Our whale watching experience was nothing less than AMAZING. From start to finish, a very professional and memorable experience. The amount of whales we saw far exceeded my expectations and our guide Jeff made sure that we had the best seat in the house. The memories will last a lifetime! More
