There was a great view across the river hear and of lower town as well. Me and the girlfriend took several pictures here. You get an up close view of the Le Chateau Frontenac and there is a nice statue here and you can take the staircases down to lower town from here. More

You can access La Promenade from either the Terrasse Dufferin near Chateau Frontenac or near the citadel. It's a really nice walk and you will be rewarded with some fantastic views of the St Lawrence river. There are plenty of benches along the route to stop, rest and take in the view. Be advised there are plenty of steps so... More

We walked from the Hotel Frontenac and the Dufferin Terrace to take the steps that led us up to the Citadel. We took our time and stopped a few times to admire the views of the river below and the Citadel above us. More

It's tough to miss this attraction as you walk through the old city. It is easier to start the walk from outside the city wall toward the Chateau Frontenac as this is all down-hill (down stairs). More

During our first full day of a five day holiday in Quebec City we walked around the Chateau Frontenac, then ambled down the Terrasse Dufferein, and then up the Promenade des Gouverneurs. Yes, it does have more than 300 steps and on a warm day you will probably break a sweat. The views are great and there are benches where... More

The views from the Promenade des Gouverneurs are fantastic. It is a little daunting when you come to the base of the stairs (Note: it is accessed by walking down the Dufferin Terrace away from the Chateau Frontenac). I read somewhere there are 310 steps to the top so be prepared for a good work out. There are benches to... More

La Promenade des Gouverneurs provides some of the best views of the river. The promenade wraps around one side of the citadel and if you walk the wholevlength of the promenade you will reach the entrance to the citadel. Right before La Promenade des Gouverneurs is the Dufrein Terrace, which has great views and small markets. I can only tell... More
