I have been to the Botanical several times. Most recently for the Mosaic International. If the weather is nice this is really a great place to spend an afternoon.
a nice break from the busy city - peaceful and restorative. Good for a family visit - though it is really pricey. I would go more often if it didn't cost so much. *** The halloween exhibit with the weird witch - is too silly and "kid friendly" for me. My whole family was annoyed by the halloween display we... Quiet and beautifull. Japenese and chinese gardens are impressive but many others too. Little expensive but it worth it.
As a Montrealer I think that our botanical gardens are one of the best things to see in the city. Large, beautiful and worth a visit in all seasons. There is always something to do in the botanical gardens, no matter what time of the year. But the best is the festival of the Chinese lanterns early fall. This gardens are must visit place in Montreal. We loved out time in this garden. My parents and my partner loved this garden.

These Botanical Gardens are some of the best in the world. They had an international show taking place when we were there with larger than life sculptures. Too bad it started raining 30 minutes after we arrived, but at least they have "indoor" gardens that you can tour too.
