Meech Lake is remembered by Canadians as a failed accord that was supposed to bring Canada together. Yet it should be remembered by us for what it is: a beautiful and clean lake in the middle of one of the world's most accessible wildernesses. Gatineau is just a few minutes from Ottawa, yet it offers a truly Canadian wilderness experience.

This is the place Meech lake accord was born.
For those who are not political still grate place to visit, because it is
in the middle of Gatineau Hills. Beautiful lake, nice nature, nice
bech, only it could be very busy during the season and you need to pay entrance.

Need to pay for parking and the actual proper swimming area is a bit small but it's a great place to get out of the city. Hiking in the fall is outstanding.
