We had a great day yesterday at Black Creek Pioneer Village with the grandkids. The very knowledgable "workers" in each log cabin very carefully explained the details of each pioneer experience.. weaving, horseshoe and iron works, doctor's office and house, raising sheep and goats, tinworks, and more. No school though, that we saw. We also understand that there is a... More

The staff is cold. The prices are outrageous. Attractions are not nice. They treat you like children. The French onion soup is absolutely horrendous

I was always forced to go here on school trips. I dislike it more every time. Every time I've gone I have gotten covered in mud, the whole village smells, but that could just be Toronto. The guides don't know there facts and obvisiously aren't fans of kids. There's other educational places to go.

If you adopt the attitude that slow meandering is the best strategy, then this place will probably be a positive experience. Volunteers in costume can teach you a lot here, so don't be shy. We all miss the pair of massive oxen who used to inhabit the field immediately after one entered the village. The restaurant is OK but you... More

Went with my school when I was a child. My parents always took me and my siblings in the summer. Have taken my own children and always love the feeling it gives me to be there.

Great for kids to learn about the pioneer days and how they lived. This would of been my 3rd or 4th time back and I think my last. It's just not the same as when you were little.

Do you want to see how the early settlers lived here? Then go to Black Creek Pioneer Village. Walk around, stay for the demostrations, and take a horse drawn carriage ride. It's not that big of a place but it's enough to give you an idea of what life was like in the early days.

Great place to visit and how they live without all the modern appliances. People was super friendly & they teach you how to make, butter, soap & candle.
