This house is a great place to go on a visit to Ottawa, or a nice refresher for those of us who live here. The interior of the house is furnished in all the period style, the Chandeliers, artifacts, etc. are authentic and the old pictures of the Canadian Prime Ministers is a good refresher. This museum contians some fascinating Canadiana. The period building itself is worth the visit but the relics from Canada's past seen in situ is wonderful. Great place for all of the family. More

The picture shows the Chateau Laurier Hotel. Laurier House is a different place on Laurier Street, East of King Edward St. More

While visiting with my wife and friends, we had some limited spare time. Finding ourselves in the vicinity of Laurier House, we decided to try it. What a grand decision! It is a hidden gem. Seeing the room where Mackenzie King entertained Churchill made history come alive. More

A hidden gem. But it is only open for tourist season so check the we or give them a call. We missed the season but were kindly let in as they had some spare time, such a nice people. It has inspired me to read some more Canadian history. Thanks! More
