Wolfe Island is a unique place with lots to see if you love the outdoors. The beaches are incredible. Birdwatching is great. The tranquility of the wind turbines in harmony with the farmland makes for great photos. Dining is pretty good too particularly in the summer months. People are friendly and probably the best-read on the planet (you have to... More

I have family living on the Island, so I may be a little biased here! Wolfe Island is such a charming and lovely place to visit. Yes I am disappointed by the windmills as well, but have moved past them as they have up for a couple of years now. There are so many beautiful roads to drive. Amazing Beach... More

Apart from the windmills, what is best about the island is its location and that means its shores and they are not as accessible as they might be. As an island it is a rather dull home to a farming community and Kingstonians who really want to escape the downtown.

I went to film the wind turbines, which, I would guestimate, are a terrible beauty on this landscape. I hope that whomever sold out to put these symbols of a government payout to a so-called green solution made money to relocate - because with 85 of them, everywhere the eye can see, needs to become a cautionary note and symbol... We took the ferry over on our bikes so the trip was free :) The windmills were interesting as we biked around the island.

Nice ride over on a ferry to have a drive around the island. Nice, clean island. Quiet and the few people we met during our time there were very nice. Enjoyable day driving the roads around the island, exploring.

wolfe Island is a free 20 minute ferry from downtown Kingston When you dock in Marysville there are several small shoppes and a couple of restaurants, corner store. The fun part is you can drive to see the wind turbines up close to appreciate their size, play a round of golf on the 2 courses, visit Big Sandy Bay where... More

One of the favourite things we like to do while visiting Kingston is take a ferry to Wolfe Island. Once there, we usually stop at the convenience store to buy snacks and a drink. We then head to the beach for a walk and a picnic. We also like to drive around the island and look at the beautiful scenery.... More

Wolfe Island is a vast flat island consumed with mostly farmland. Connected to both US and Canada via a Ferry system has been costly to the small retail stores there. Ferry shutdowns from some long strikes in the past or limited use of Ferry's during work to rule have forced many of the small businesses over to the mainland in... More
