Fort Anne may be small, but it is unusual and the grounds are very, very well kept. Unfortunately it isn't open on Fridays and Saturdays, but luckily we could extend our stay until Sunday so we could view it. The tapestry is truly amazing.

Interesting history over some hard fought real estate...it is amazing scenery as you walk the grounds and read the display boards... The quilt that you see in the Fort itself is worth the price of admission; which is a small fee for learning about our roots...I love old cemeteries and this place has some very old sites .
This is a wonderfully preserved piece of Canadian History. The grounds are beautiful and lots of information as you self guide around the "fort". The main barracks have some exhibits and the new needle point panel/tapestry depicting the history of the fort is fascinating. So much detail and work. The $4.00 entry fee is ridiculous. A bargain.
Neat as a pin, so well-maintained, excellent staff on site and a great history lesson re French and British settlement and interactions with Mi'gmaw (sp? - sorry)
History preserved! Huge, lots to walk around. Need a nice sunny day to fully appreciate the view. Don't miss part of our Canadian history. Night cemetery ghost tour was also very nice.
This NHS is not large but apparently this was once the most fought-after piece of Canada so if you like history you will want to come. The museum does a good job of taking you through the history of the area, using information placards, displays, and props. You can wander about the ruins outdoors.
Take a walk around and do go to the top and see the spectacular view over the river. The visit the museum.
The site is incredibly beautiful and would be worth a visit for nothing other than to see the sunset over the Annapolis River. However, the restored fort is absolutely fascinating and makes it a must see attraction for anyone interested in early European history in North America. The artifacts are great, the storytelling is compelling and there is the most...

This place is so interesting! you can spend hours here soaking up the history of it all. Pristine property wit freedom to roam the ramparts while enjoying the views and cool ocean breeze.
The Graveyard tour. Mr Melanson had a terrific sense of humour and what made the tour even more special, was the fact that he was a direct decendant of Acadians who originally settled in the area
