The Pacific Rim National Park runs most of the way from Ucluelet to Tofino in BC. It includes many beaches, including our favorite, Florencia Bay. With hundreds of thousands of huge driftwood washed onto the sandy beach, it was stunning. The attendant at the Kisitis Visitor Centre told us of the live grenade found along the beach in the sand...

Early June is the perfect time to camp at Green Point. Good to reserve a space though! Wonderful to walk the beach. Then campsites are green and bushy.
Pacific Rim National Park is a wonderful place for a hike in the rainforest or a walk on the beach. During our visit to the west coast of Vancouver Island we hiked both sections of the Rainforest Trail as well as walked along long beach. I would highly recommend both of these.

We stopped at Cathedral drive for a walk. Also went into the rain forest with amazing board walks, very eeiry but lovely to see.
We hiked several trails and out to the beaches at Schooner Cove and long beach and and also part of the rainforest trail, and the sub region with the bonsai type plants so unique to the areas towering old growth trees. Every Canadian should go and any one who enjoys pristine nature.
The trail is easy to walk and has many benches to sit and rest and view the area. Absolutely beautiful. Do not miss it.

This is a truly spectacular area and it is worth visiting all the beaches and doing the walks.

There are toilet blocks with flushing toilet and hot water...
