This is definitely one of the places I always try to bring out of country visitors to. It is an excellent representation of an important time in our province's history. We have visited many times but the best by far is to plan on staying overnight at one of the B&B's right in the historic park. You get to wander... More

A great heritage site regarding BC's Goldrush era. Lots to see and do, and a great way to spend a day. There are several souvenir shops and 2-3 adequate but expensive places to eat. Best bring your own food, then splurge on some good ice cream or fudge! As well as Barkerville proper, there are camping facilities nearby, and numerous... More

Barkerville was a goldrush town, and it has been preserved as wonderful place to vacation. Open in the summer it is full of actors dressed the part who wonder through town, a horse and buggy is available for a tour, and a trip to the courthouse to watch Judge begbie the hanging judge. There are shows running throughout the day,... More

We took four children under 10 to tour the town of Barkerville and we all oved it for different reasons. Overall, it is an experiential look at an old gold rush town and how people leived at the time. There is pleanty of history for the adults and lots of activities (especially paaning for gold) for kids of all ages.... More

This is a great way to learn about the history of the area and what it might have been like to be part of the gold rush! Stop in at the Hotel for fresh grub, catch a show at the theatre, pan for gold, go on a tour, but most of all pay the $$$and get your photo taken as... More

Barkerville is like no other historical site that I've ever been to. There are a number of exhibits to explore with lots of town characters to enhance the experience. The walk to the court house was delightful. I explored all the shops and enjoyed a stop in the bakery as well as bought a pair of homemade wool slippers in... More
