It's worth a visit just to see the rink. We saw the World skaters taking a go at the fastest ice in the world and it was very exciting to say the least!
If you never skated on an oval before, it is a fun to try. They do have speed skate rentals. I wouldn't by a seasons pass but considering it was an Olympic venue you should check it out.
We went to watch a family friend compete in long track speed skating, I was a neat experience. Well maintained facility and their zamboni drivers were meticulous.
This is worth a walk-through even if all you do is gawk at the building. However, it's also a great place to skate -- lots of room! If you really want to understand what it's about, attend a speed-skating competition; these are surprisingly interesting and you are likely to see world-class athletes, including many locals.
This is a world class facility that Calgary is very proud of. Skaters come from all over the world to train.

Otherwise, stopping by to watch the Olympic athletes and Olympic hopefuls train can be interesting. If you'd like to try speed skating they do have speed skates you can rent (which aren't as...

It is a legacy piece from the Calgary Winter Olympics and is still a strong building. Great place to rent a good pair of skates and try to speed. Almost impossible to skate on most rented skates. They should sharpen...

such a nice oval, too bad it doesn't have more seats for more people to watch the events in comfort. It is nice to have on the campus adjacent to the physed building. Lots of parking nearby and central to the city.
