If you want to start hiking in the mountains, but are wary of the wilderness, this is ideal. Even for experienced hikers this is a great hike. The trail is busiest during mid day, so if you like a quiet trail, go early. The views are awesome, and the elevation gain is gentle except for a couple to sections. (But... More

We started our hike at sun rise to avoid the crowds around Lake Louise. After taking some good sun rise pictures around the Chateau Lake Louise we started the hike. After traversing the path around Lake Louise, traffic continuing on the trail almost ceased. We enjoyed the solitude while quietly making our way up to the Tea House. We passed... More

We hiked to the tea house during our visit to Lake Louise. As it was in September there was only a small amount of snow and the trail was in good condition. We found it challenging but still very possible even for unfit people such as ourselves. The tea house is a welcoming sight at the end of the trail... More

It is an achievable hike for most and the elevation gain is worthwhile in terms of effort to get the views at the top. The tea and snacks are overpriced, but if you bring your own, you can have a great time for next to nothing. Beware on the way down...there is one route that looks like a short cut... More

Theoretically, the teahouse at the top of the Six Glaciers Trails is your destination, but if you've brought a lunch and enough water, there's no need to waste your money. The trail is what it's all about, and on a good day, it's worth the effort. Just a short stroll on a paved/graveled path from the Lake Louise Hotel, and... More

As I worked my way up the trail, a surprise awaited me, lots of snow! Treading carefully in my trail shoes, I made crunching sounds as my feet went deep into the white, powder. Luck would be on my side as other hikers had already created a footpath I could follow. Stepping into the tracks that determined my route, I... More

After a grueling hike up, they are a welcome site to see. Not an expansive menu, but do you expect to eat Fillet Mignon? Excuse me! They did us a favor and served us 3 cups of hot water to make our cup noodles in (for $5 a cup), way past their closing time. It was much appreciated. More

We were very lucky that the weather was lovely with blue sky on the day we went to Lake Louise. The Plain of Six Glaciers is about 14km from Chateau Lake Louise if you go all the way to the trail end. We were advised it could take about 5 hrs. However it took us over 7 hrs to soak... More

My husband and I hiked this trail on Oct 23, 2011.... absoulutly beautiful just make sure your prepared with winter gear, the trail is quite steep and icy in parts. The lookout trail after the teahouse has about 4 feet of snow on it. It was really neat when we got to the plains, we witnessed an avalanche and a... More

This is a review for the Plain of Six Glaciers trail and the teahouse. The Plain of Six Glaciers trailhead is in the shoreline of Lake Louise. An early start is recommended so you can spend some time in the lake during the early morning hours. It's awesome. The first sun rays illuminate the Victoria glaciers in pink tones, gradually...
