We found the Joggins Fossil Cliffs totally by accident one day while out for a drive. We decided to stop for a visit and we weren't disappointed. The centre itself has lots of information and activities for kids. The building is beautiful and brand new! We also went down to the beach and the kids (ages 3 &6) could explore... More

While the fossil cliffs are naturally the central point, the recently constructed (and energy friendly!) interpretation centre has fantastic exhibits. I like the attention on the people and historical side, as well as the science. The staff are enthusiastic and some of them actually do scientific research and/or are born near the site. The gift shop and lunch room are... More

Fascinating walk back in time. Dinosaurs in Nova Scotia? The Interpretation Centre is both stimulating and educational. Plan your visit for low tide so that you can search for fossils. Stay over night in Amherst for easy access. More

The Joggins Fossil Cliffs Interpretation Centre removed the second staircase to the shore leaving only one stairway to and from the UNESCO World Natural Heritage fossil cliffs. The narrow, steep Joggins Fossil Cliff Centre stairs are very hard to get up and down, even for a healthy person, but present a real barrier to anyone with mobility issues. The original... More
