I suppose it can sound a bit mundane. Another zocalo. The Cathedral on one side of the plaza, City Hall on another, lots of restaurants and side-walk cafes, trees and gardens all over the place, kids playing with their balloons, and sometimes a concert at night in front of the Cathedral. What a beautiful square. Surrounded by some stunning colonial buildings and a fantastically beautifull church, it's easy to spend time watching life go. They should kick out McDonalds, but what can you do? I especially enjoyed walking some of the streets a few blocks behind the square and seeing all the little storfront food stalls and shops. This is a very calm place, full of trees and a beautiful fountain. It has several nice buildings around, including the astounding cathedral (one of the oldest in America). There are several places to dinner, restaurants, bars, with live music and good ambient, even karaoke. For the more young there are also McDonalds and Carl's Junior. A good idea to... more
