Oh, Dear, how I walked! This is a very important site if you like the feeling of walking through history. The actual name and civilization that made this city is still undetermined. The pyramids, and the altar and the wall... lots of steps and sun, btw, wear sunblock and comfortable shoes.

nice day trip from zacatecas... amazing views but wear comfortable shoes and expect to do some climbing. very few tourists make it out there so you would have the place all to yourself. interesting museum with info on the chalchihuites culture... site may have been stopover of the aztecs before founding tenochtitlan or a teotihuacan outpost no one is sure.... Whilst certainly not the most incredible pre-hispanic ruins in Mexico, by a wide margin this site makes up for it with a stunning setting and an excellent little museum and screening room. Certainly an interesting introduction to the era though and worth the trip out.

Definitely need to make a day of it...was fun, not very kid friendly, but interesting, historic and had great views! Would be better to do it with a tour guide.

If you want to see some history & get some exercise WITHOUT the tourists- this is your place. They don't really know too much about the original settlers here- but it IS cool!

Barely excavated but stunning in its present form. Be prepared to hike/climb. Very worth your time. Give it at least half a day. More if you can.

La Quemada is a very unique archeological site in Mexico. The style of the constructions is very particular; it seems more mesopotamic than aztec or mayan! The pyramids are located in a hill, where you can watch the surroundings and feel a fresh and a strong wind. If you are visiting Zacatecas, the trip to La Quemada is worth.

I went to La Quemada last week. It was the highpoint of my trip to central Mexico! I would recommend this site to anyone who enjoys history, archaeology or a good hike!

My mother is much more familiar with this country. I am planning to go in a couple of months. My grandmother is buried there by her parents side. This is definitely the place to go if you are true to your self and relish peace, otherwise don't bother.
