We too were ripped off by Erick's in the shopping center at the Carnival Cruise port in Cozumel. They sold us a ring and earrings that they said was sapphire and white gold. We were in Cozumel in 3/09 and bought a ring from Erick's, it was sold to us as gold, Tanzanite ring with diamonds. Cozumel, Mexico was hit hard by Hurricane Wilma, but the Forum Shops were up and running. The colors are so vibrant from the moment your step onto the island. The water is so crystal clear and such beautiful colors of blue. If you plan to spend some time at the Forum Shops do stop by Fat Tuesday for a drink...
