“Narrow road to a place few have been.”

The road leading to oxkintok is narrow and gravel/ rocks as you approach from calcehtok. This is a one lane road or less. Be prepared to travel 10mph. I went there only once and was fascinated by the amount of structures at the site. It's very remote and you have to drive down a small road to get there. More

We were driving from Merida to Campeche, and the road map showed the ruins of Oxkintok just off the main highway. I am fascinated by the Mayas so I suggested that we stop to see it. My trip to Oxkintok seemed easy enough. The guide books and the reviews mentioned it would be easy to access and had a lot of interesting architecture.
