Our group of four included two teenage boys. Alex Aranda gave us experiences we will remember for a lifetime. His knowledge is abundant, he is totally bilingual in Spanish and English, and he has passion and respect for the places and people of the region of Chiapas where he offers tours. We visited the ruins of Tenam Puente, the Cascadas... More

Over the last few years I have been on a number of guided tours here in Chiapas, and I must say that Alex Arandas exceeds them all! I was one of six on our tour - four of us from the USA (who knew each other before) and a young couple from Israel - but by the end of the... More

Alex was absolutely the best tour guide we have ever encountered. His love, knowledge of and enthusiasm for the indigenous people of Chiapas made our day one of the most memorable experiences of our lifetime. Not so much a "tour" to see people and places, but an educational experience that allows your to "feel" the pulse of the culture. Highlights... More

Beyond being extremely knowledgeable and a truly excellent guide, Alex has spent a great deal of time getting to know the indigent people of the area and their history. I believe, in the 9 days we spent with this tour guide, we were taken to places that others could not get into because of the mutual respect between Alex and... More

All the other reviews are true: a tour with Alex is a great learning experience. He has a sophisticated world-view, boundless energy, and seemingly knows everyone and everything about the area. I only knew what I had read about the Mayan people before I arrived, but Alex made them come alive, with both humor and respect. As another plus, Alex... More

Our guide, Alex Arunda, was a major factor in making the trip such a success. He is informative, funny, accommodating, helpful and passionate about his Chiapas. Alex and his wife, Joanna, were a great resource in planning... More
