You should go first to the Palacio de Gobierno and see the 2 murals they have there of Orozco...after that go to Hospicio Cabanas: the place in itself is amazing but when you see Orozco's murals there is the grand finale for your visit to Guadalajara. Make sure you have one of the guides in there, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly... More

The murals (which are on the UNESCO world heritage list) were worth a visit - though the subject matter (fire and brimstone!) may not appeal to everyone. The rest of the site was largely vacant when we visited which was a shame.

Don't even attempt to make sense of these murals unless you have a guide or guidebook. The murals are spectacular but spectacularly inscrutible unless you understand the imagery.

This cultural and historic place was once a hospital and a orphanage that beside the impressive murals and frescoes, is beautiful itself for its architecture. The master piece is the Man of Fire by Jose Clemente Orozco. This place is very emblematic in this city so you should definitely visit it but bring your students ID (for discounts) and get... More

Nice place, well preserved. However, did not get to see anything that day as they were preparing for a concert for the Mexican President; so no other Exhibits were going on.

A very majestic building of huge proportions offers the works of Orosco at his finest. Many foreign exhibits are show here as well. It can take a few visits to see it all.

Beautiful old building with stunning murals and lovely patios. A very nice place to wander. The tour guide was a little long-winded, but you can duck in and out of the tour.

the murals are certainly the star of the show at this museum. Bring alone your student ID for a hefty discount! much of the exhibits seemed to be closed, but the few that were open were very interesting and well planned.

The museum offers a great variety of murals and other exhibits, you can easily spend 2 hours there. It is not boring at all because you can admire the murals on the roof. I really enjoyed the museum; I would definitely recommend a visit.

The murals are great, but I liked the structure itself even better. It's a beautiful space. We went first thing on a Saturday morning and it was nearly deserted. For a short time...
